Whisper Down The Valley
If I bounce I sure as hell hope my Incident Thread
does not end up meandering to the point where it
ends up being a place where people are swapping
recipes and discussing extreme coupon-ing...

Here are some of my recent thoughts:

RE: Risks of BASE

If you have watched someone die in real life…
If you have been severely injured/hospitalized…
If you have lived/loved a mobility impaired person…
If you have been in a wheelchair or on crutches…
THEN you may have a better grasp of what is honestly
being risked on each and every jump one of us makes.

RE: no more quoting long passages

I have never used a telephone to surf the internet,
my mouse wheel and track pad work like a champ!
I just think it is un-necessary most of the time and
since it negatively impacts some users, it works to
lessen the noise to signal ratio.

RE: John Elway

I love that story and have used it before teaching.
My Tai Chi instructor said the same idea this way:
My Words will not change, their meaning will,
because with experience comes understanding.

RE: Elevator Information

NO FUCKING WAY - - never ever spread that
information online to anonymous randoms!! Mad

I knew Don zarda many years ago when we worked together at skydive wrong island ny. The piss fest the thread about him turned in to with accusations at his friends was not acceptable.
But on this website it's nothing new, that's why years ago I told my friends that if I go in I want them to just cover my dead body with some rocks or turf and keep all details off of that morbid list and the piss fest on this website.

Quoting is important as the person you're quoting might edit/delete their posts and then the thread gets confusing and/or important info might be lost. You never know what kind of post might become relevant later on. Remember that brit who posted those long tirades about some chick who he ended up stabbing to death? I thought of quote-responding to some of that shit but didn't feel like it at the time.

Re: Quoting Long Passages
Quoting a short, specific piece makes sense.
Hence it is a common practice in academia,

…but when done in discussions of opinions
or to re-hash retarded decisions made a
decade ago, it just adds noise, no signal.

Lastly, how would your quoting on a forum
prevent some one from stabbing another??
