Lauterbrunen valley - Camping Breithorn - Stechelberg
So I just arrived this early morning in the valley and after getting my monthly transportation pass next thing I did was to go to get a place to set my tent at camping Breithorn. Soon as I arrived at the reception desk after the welcome greetings the lady behind the desk asked me if I am a base jumper and after I answered with a full of myself YES I AM next thing she did was to change her nice smiling face to an angry one (but still a nice one) and showed me the door out to leave and that she doesn't want base jumpers at her place.
I remember when I was here a month and a half ago and I did my first jump here in the valley from exit point dumpster rite after landing I stopped here at the above named camping site and got some cold beers and also asked the lady about prices for camping she was all nice and welcoming and also asked me if I am a base jumper - my same yes I am - was followed by please come and camp here anytime.
So what the fuck happened in the mean time? Who are the cocksuckers that pissed the shit out this nice people?
My first reaction was just to apologize and respect her demand and walk out to my car. Before pulling out the parking lot I changed my mind and went back and see if I can get some details on what happened.
Went back inside and now there were two women inside the place both of them telling me to leave. It took me about 15 min of nice words to find out just a little of what happened but just enough to make our community to look so bad in front of this people. All she said that base jumpers were landing on the campground area and so many other problems that she don't wanna share with me and just kept telling that there are two other camping sites and just go there and stay away from her place. Once again I apologized and I walked away.
After taking off in my car I saw a lady across the street from the camping site sitting outside in front of her house with her son so I went there to have a chat with her maybe I can get some more details about the shit that pissed this people off.
Again same reaction after the good morning hello she just showed me a really disappointed face. Apparently what happened recently is that some people camped here and also had visitors that stayed overnight that also used the showers and all another services and at the and when the bill came the campers did not agree to pay the full bill....and you can imagine the rest. This is all that I found out so far. I am pretty sure there is more than this. Maybe local jumpers heard more. Please post here if you know more. This kind of behavior is totally unacceptable.it brings a really bad name for our community. Where the fuck is the ethics?
Also the lady(across from the camp site) explained to me that local people don't like base jumpers anymore, there is too many of us that all we do is just jump and sometimes too many times die in front of their children eyes, children that play outside in the backyard.
"Before used to be just a few base jumpers and everyone was nice they were interacting with the local people they were respectful they were offerring something in return for using this fields and this cliffs but now they just come here too many and just jump and just die and make trash and desrespect the place" - this were her exact words.
Where is everything going? Is just a matter of time before they will close the vally for jumping. Respect this place, it don't belong to you, it belongs to this people....the real locals. Fuck....I am so disappointed!
