I was wondering if anyone on basejumper would be willing to share what they know about antenna elevators with me. I will be taking a trip soon and it would be very cool if i didn't have to climb. If you have any knowledge on the matter please send me a PM

They go up and down.

Shoot me a PM. I know a little and we've gotten a few working, but every A I've known of with a working elevator got burned at some point. Either the vader got stuck, access thereof was found and security was increased, or how damn loud it is attracted attention of the neighbors.

They can last a while though if you're careful!

I'm weird and like climbing them (can't/shouldn't jump it more than once with an elevator anyway...much higher chance of getting caught)

Everyone needs more cardio.

Every BASE jumper should do a tall climb or 2!

Elevators sure are nice though.

Work smarter not harder.

Every elevator tower that I opened was burned by some other jumper - who did them in the daytime. Everytime they do this, it takes about 7 years before another becomes available. In Houston, I had anywhere from 2 to 4 elevators at any one time. Now we have none. We had one recently but copper thieves burned the object, sadly.

Gotta stay one step ahead of the crowd.........
