Le 02.09.2014 vers 17h00, un accident de « wingsuit » s’est produit dans la région de la Croix de Fer. Un homme a perdu la vie.

Deux hommes se sont élancés d’un promontoire rocheux situé à une vingtaine de mètres du sommet de la Croix de Fer (2243 mètres). Dès le départ, l’un d’eux est sorti de la trajectoire normale en déviant sur la gauche. Il est venu percuter une paroi rocheuse environ 300 mètres plus bas.

Arrivé sur place, les secours n’ont pu que constater le décès de la personne.

La victime et un Australien âgé de 26 ans.

Seems like an asymetric hard push from uneven rock sent him head low and turning in wrong direction for terrain. Not a very short drop by todays standards.

Watch your footing, if your gonna push really hard...have good footing
