Re: [Ronald] Martin Trdla
Combination of powered hand glider exit and in the region of a mountain = proximity flight?

Plan was (according to newspapers) to fly along the highest Czech mountain and lend on the Czech side (with the exit on the Polish side).

Re: [cpoxon] Martin Trdla
As I talked with Martin about this project few months earlier I think the plan was proxy flyby between the buildings on the top of Snezka from the polish side not proxy flight down the mountain but I can be wrong. The accident happened just after exiting the glider and I don't have enough info at the moment what was the cause. Martin was considered safe and very cautious jumper which makes it even harder to understand. I'll update if probably the only witness would like to talk about the accident.

Fly forever my friend you will never be forgotten!

Re: [michal.slesingr] Martin Trdla
After retrieving some information about the incident there is what most probably happened. Martin exited the powered glider which was for him (as he was very tall) very difficult with problems putting him head low and resulting in flipping over his head. After he recovered and started to fly he probably found himself too low to fly over the peak so he decided to turn back to Poland which cost him some altitude and speed as well (He might have done this turn if faith to gain some more altitude on steep terrain otherwise I have no idea why he didn't pull right after he found out that he is unable to fly over the mountain. Or maybe also the circumstances of illegal jump made him push harder not to land up there), after the turn he decided to pull but was too low and impacted with stretched lines. Unfortunately canopy didn't have time to inflate. BSBD
