Does anyone have any further information or news reports?

I was there this morning. We were around 6 or 8 jumpers (maybe more) conditions were perfect in my opinion. I jumped alone, he jumped right after me in a two way with another guy.

We didn't realize anything and couldn't see anything from the landing. The guy who jumped with him landed and told us the bad news.

I don't know exactly what went wrong and won't make any speculation so I will let someone who has facts post more details.

I met him for the first time today on the exit, we shook hands and smiled just before I jumped. May he rest in peace

This incident happened this morning, Sunday 17 August 2014 not 16.

According to the news 2 jumpers have perished this Sunday, one Austrian in Brevent and one French in Mont Granier.

Do you mean Australian or Austrian in Brevent? The news report from my original post refers to an Australian dying in Brevent.

Yes he was flying a green aura. Apparently traveling alone. From what has been gathered so far, went from flying very flat to a very very aggressive dive and became very unstable, possibly even flipping or barrel rolling before impact. As before, brevent is not a place to learn a new skill. If you have any doubts of your ability to exit or control very steep and technical flight, practice elsewhere. Condolences to his family and friends.

yes any idea on who the Australian was and where he was from
