More ethics stuff
An ongoing dispute over a seemingly benign situation has got me wondering.

If there was a photo taken of you and some fellow jumpers geared up in a dark, and totally unidentifiable location, and that photo was posted on da facebook. Would it matter?

Re: [nakeddave] More ethics stuff
- Is there a reliable way to attach some date/time to the photo?
- Did the other jumpers do something stupid and get caught at that time/date?

If this photo was taken in the dark and they have something to show you did it wrong. Just saying forget about ethics take up legal jumping like me.

you wouldn't be taking the picture if it was COMPLETELY unidentifiable. chances are your group arent the only ones there. PLEASE do not use your flash at the very least.

CBA fail
Flash photography prior to a night BASE jump is stupid.

Re: [nakeddave] More ethics stuff
It might matter.

If one of the jumpers had a situation (security clearance or something) where the photo by itself could create issues, I'd certainly say it was an ethical breach, and if one of the jumpers requested that it be taken down (or not posted, since it's hard to really take something off the internet), it should be.

Re: [TomAiello] More ethics stuff
As a general rule, if it's questionable just ask everyone involved first.

Or maybe an even better rule is: If you're not sure, than you're sure.

Re: [nakeddave] More ethics stuff
but were or were you not naked in this photo? Totally changes my answer.

Re: [REDAKTOR] More ethics stuff
The photo in question is basically the same as this one. Nothing that could ID the object at all, and none of the persons were in risk of losing security clearance or on have outstanding warrants.
And it was removed from facedick at the first request.

side note: I actually have nothing to do with THE photo, just sick of hearing the bitching and overreactions about it. Wanted to get some general feedback

Re: [Arvoitus] More ethics stuff
Nobody got caught. In fact the jump never even happened. Was too windy and everyone went home.

Prior to climb, inside a structure.
