The Hangout

Time to call it.
Hey guys,
I wanted to thank everyone in this community as well as the admins and creators of this site as I depart from the sport. The amount of information and ideas exchanged here has been invaluable and allowed me to successfully make over 300 jumps from 100+ objects without injury.
I've been inactive for the past 3-1/2 years focusing instead on traveling around the globe in which I met my amazing partner and was married last summer at Burningman.
We lost yet another one of our locals a few weeks ago and at the funeral I couldn't help but remeber all the others whom are no longer with us from parachuting related accidents. I also looked around the room during Zachs services seeing good people crippled and permanently injured by the sports we love so dearly. I left there knowing that its time to close this chapter in my life and sell the massive collection of gear. Its a hard thing to do. Possibly the hardest thing I have done in the sport other than go to funerals.

I would have to say its been one amazing ride! So many memories I will hold forever and replay in my mind as I fall asleep some nights. The feeling of conquering fears, the smells of the nightly missions to get on top, and the bonds that were made will always stay with me.
Thank you all. Please be safe.
Cheers
Jeff T.

Hey mate ,

Full respect for you on getting out alive and in one bit not many get to say that mate ,

BASE jumping ain't everything mate it's just a small chapter in your life you fulfilled that part and now moving on so good luck to the next adventures mate

It's funny when you start out all excited about what is to come then you look around the room a few hundred jumps later and years and see that all those faces have disappeared either through injury/death

Good luck mate

BASE jumping is a game with very high stakes.

You just won the game.

Congratulations.

Stay safe out there.
