New to BASE
'Sup guys - I'm an adrenaline junky who just knows that one of them squirrel suits is my thing and they look super easy to fly. Will someone teach me?

...Ahem, what I meant to say is: I'm a young(ish) jumper who's looking to find out if the risk/reward of BASE computes for me.

A little about me: 550-ish skydives over 3 years, mostly RW and Classic Accuracy. Coach, senior rigger, etc... The freefall is great, but the canopy ride is really why I skydive - can't get enough of it! I get a kick out of older gear and the history of the sport, and enjoy the rigging as well as the jumping.

Given the above sentiments, BASE seems to have a lot of the things that appeal to me: learning, planning, rigging, canopy challenges. I'll be at Twin Falls in September for some PCAs with a qualified mentor, and I am signed up for both Bridge Day and the preceding 3 day course. Looking to find out if the reward exceeds the risk for me.

Looking forward to meeting a few of you and learning - If anyone needs ground grew in the central Ohio area (or surrounding states on weekends) I'm happy to pitch in, deliver beer, and soak up the knowledge that I can.

Cheers!

Re: [Top_Bunk] New to BASE
There are less than 10 Mentors World wide. As for the risk/reward calcs. that is debateable. if you pursue the sport, and are bad, you may die quickly. If you are great, you will see your friends die, all for moments of feeling alive like you have never felt before.
take care,
