Road Trip starting from the Netherlands
Hello Guys,

I'm a first time poster here but a "long" time lurker ;).

I have purchased my BASE rig last year and since then got some mentoring from a couple of local base-jumpers. I have made my first PCA and since then wanting more (of course...) I am going to make a BASE trip through Europe in the first 2 weeks of Europe, combining skidiving with BASE together with my mentor.,

Do any of you guys know some spots (antenna's/bridges/etc) we can do, except from Brento and Lauterbrunnen of course.

I would gladly pay in beer :) to get together and jump some spots with you guys.

PM me or leave a reaction to share... and of course thank you for all the responses.

Thanks.

Re: [Mouch] Road Trip starting from the Netherlands
Hi Guys,

Just realized that I sounded like somewhat of a douchebag in the last post, not even updating my profile and expecting people to react.

Well, I have updated my profile and I let you in on me a little bit:

I've purchased my gear last year through basejumpers.com (ZAK with Troll DW 265). Since then I have made 1 jump of an antenna and packing my ass off with some assistance of a local jumper (thanks once again).

I want to make the correct (baby) steps, because I want to enjoy the sport hopefully for a long time.

Thanks for all your efforts once again.

PM me if you're interested in knowing more.

Re: [Mouch] Road Trip starting from the Netherlands
So baby steps are going on a road trip after 1 jump with a mentor that doesnt know any of the objects in the area?
I think you should get the details off BASE 1817

Maybe even the "mentor" wants to join in on the fjc. Especially knowing how fucking active the tulips are.

@BASE1817 PM sent

The guys knows his stuff and has done his jumps and made his mistakes. I can't speak for all of the "tulips" of course ;)

In Europe, as you both know, are a lot of spots that are more safe and maybe even more fun than the well-known spots.

I'm looking for these spots with jumpers around Europe to enjoy and learn from those people.

People who know their stuff and don't mind sharing the knowledge the "old school" way so to say.

But thanks for the advice and if there are people that would like to chime in, i'm learning from all of you ;)

In reply to:

Perhaps pick another mentor if Lauterbrunnen is his idea of a good first spot for jumping, and he is taking you to spots that he hasnt jumped himself.

For sure hope its not the same guy that keeps doing stupid stuff, who should be playing student and LEARNING in both skydiving and base vs TEACHING. But dispite other jumpers and organisation warning, doesnt seem to listen.

By all means PM me, and if its that person I fear it is, would recommend canceling your trip, and booking a real base FJC over the Evil Knievel Jackass version...

Re: [Mouch] Road Trip starting from the Netherlands
Hey there,

Lets go by real names here. I'm Wouter Wellen from the TBC. I don't know any dutch jumper who's got a zak with a troll 265 that only made one PCA jump. Also I don't want to speculate who the mentor in question is since i don't know who it is. I don't want to be arrogant or anything i just want to say that we as the Tulips don't have any connections with this guy whats o ever. @Mouch who ever you maybe you are always free to contact us ;-)

Cheers
Wouter

Re: [Mouch] Road Trip starting from the Netherlands
Oke guys ive done some digging around. And absolutely no dutch basejumper knows who this mouch could be. So his claims of getting instructions from local basejumpers is plain bullshit as far as i can tell. I strongly suggest to be really careful about showing this guy any spots. And if you take him know that he is not backed by the dutch locals.

@ mouch this is nothing personal. And you are always free to contact me or any one of the tulip base crew. From there we can look into a proper entrance into base instead of pretending you have a dutch mentor and making a post on here thinking anybody is just gonna take you to their beloved base spots and let you fuckup there.

Cheers
Wouter

Hello Guys,

Well this escelated quickly ;) but nonetheless....

Thanks for all the replies.

I've looked at the replies and it seems they are focused on a couple of thing so let me ellaborate on these:

- @Wouter PM sent, @BASE1817 pm sent, @Mccordia pm sent, @Omelette PM sent
- "Tulips" I thought this was slang for the dutch people and not for the particular BASE group called Tulip Base Crew. I don't know you guys and like what you do on your movies. The only tulips I know are growing in my garden ;)
- Maybe I wasn't clear in my plans so let me elaborate:
I've done my homework, made my jumps and are aware of the risks. I'm planning on going to Croatia and do about 10-15 jumps. Then when I feell confident enough I will proceed to Brento. Lauterbrunnen may not be an option this trip.
- This call was made on this forum to find if there are some people who would be willing to take me along.
- @Wouter please contact me first before posting this kind of bullshit. I'm actually not a bad guy.

Once again, thanks for your replies.

@ mouch that bridge in croatia is not fully legal and therefore you should not name that bridge here in public!

Re: [flybyidiot] Road Trip starting from the Netherlands
just shot a few messages back and forth with mouch. it is a dutch guy but hasn't jumped in holland because his home dz is in belgium and his PCA jump was in belgium aswell with one of the belgian crew. This explains why no one of the dutch crew knew him. other than that his skydive experience checks out. But i still dont know him personally so im in no position to vouch for him either. thats up to the belgian crew. good luck on your roadtrip mouch
