Tracking
Recently a very well respected and talented WS pilot told me to " lead with your head " when WS. Head down-should be able to see your feet. making the leading edge and wing across the entire back and shoulders. Looking up relative wind hits the chest and face decreasing the air foil.

How about tracking.? I did this recently and definately got distance. But head low and steep. I'm comfortable with that but is that always necessary? Do most pilots in ws and tracking jumps keep the nead neutral or looking down at the feet?

Leading with the head for sure is right, but looking back isnt. When speeding up, pushing the head down, and chin forward (similar to a cyclist driving at higher speeds) is way prefered over looking back at your feet. Seeing where you're going is in 100% of situations a much preferred method..

+1
When I track I push my head and shoulders forward. You should not be looking at your feet. Just push your head forward and keep your chin away from your chest.
You push your shoulders forward to cup air on your torso to act like a sail.

Attached is a horrible drawing I did to show you what I'm talking about.

I find that I go where I look. As soon as I look down to see how high I am I start to sink.... I've watched footage and it's obvious. Stretching out as much as possible to give myself maximum surface area also helps. Toes pointed to the max for the straightest legs possible!

If only I was flexible enough to bend my foot flush with my shin like every girl in the world seems to be able to do... That would streamline the wing instead of having your feet act like flaps on an airplane...
