Hello all, it has been a couple years I think since I signed up on here and finally am ready to take the next plunge in my aerial life in my FJC in the upcoming weeks at the Perrine.

I am very excited and a little nervous to take the course, but not abnormally so. My confidence level is up- again not abnormally so- from skydiving, packing and consuming base related articles, books and other material available to me. For me this is a few years in the making, a goal that I had put off a couple times to build the right mindset and basic skills necessary to feel confident to jump, survive and have fun.

All that being said, hopefully I don't sounds like a total douche- I'm sure I'm opening the floodgates there, but oh well- and wanted to see if there were any jumpers in the Bay Area, and/or SoCal that would be interested or willing to provide any information on local protocol for objects, meet up for a drink to see if we're compatible jumping partners and possibly take me out for a jump or two.

I understand that taking on a novice jumper and being one is a huge responsibility and I wouldn't want anyone else to carry that weight who wasn't 100% down with it. I would like to enter the sport waving a white flag and do right by the sport and the locals. I do not want to burn objects that I've been scouting as I'm sure they have already been jumped or scouted by others, so I figured the best way to go about this was to see if anyone in the great state of California would be willing to help a jumper out.

Lolol you moved to the only place in Europe where insulting a cop is still against the law. Nice work, freeman.

insulting anyone is forbidden and punishable by law if it is groundless. but i can high 5 after a landing andwalk to the bar across the street and have a beer instead of running to the getaway car with the fear of spending 3 months or years in jail hanging over my escape tactics. One should never insult any one anyway.

I'm concerned that you've not met any jumpers at your local DZ. They're fairly prolific at the two main Bay Area DZ's.

I have met jumpers at the DZs around, but some of them were beginners/hopefuls like myself and others were maybe too big to just outright ask without feeling like a dick. I figured I'd throw a post up and see if anyone was interested on their own before soliciting in person and being extra annoying.
