Searching for Base jump video for feature film

I'm a film researcher working on a film for the Weinstein company titled THE GIVER. An imdb link is below.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0435651/

The director of the film is interested in licensing a clip of this footage in the above mentioned film. The footage was actually located on Youtube. The person who uploaded the YouTube link made a compilation video which included the "Base Jumper jumping off a clip" shot below, however I don't think they own the shot. In a perfect world I would love to find the exact same footage. Screen grabs are attached for reference. If it would be helpful to see the whole shot, the Youtube link and time code is below:

The shot in question is the shot of the base jumper in yellow at 0:43- 0:48

Re: [Gnirke] Searching for Base jump video for feature film
Dear Gnirke,

I just checked out the trailer, and while that exact shot isn't in the trailer, there's a strong possibility that it's in the full length documentary. There is a different shot with one of the guys in what appears to be the same yellow jump suit. Thank you! I will contact them to verify. If so, you've got dinner or drinks on me. I really appreciate your taking the time to share the information and get back to me.

After I contact them and if they approve, this will save me from having to find a replacement shot (that no one would be happy with 'cause they fell in love with this one!) and I can't begin to tell you what a headache that would have been for me.

Thanks so much. What a great community this is! I'll let you know what happens.

You are very welcome. Hopefully the movie will be portraying the sport in a good light (although a 5sec clip probably doesn't lend it's self to much editorialization). The individuals who produced that clip are incredibly talented and have dedicated years to make that kind of thing possible. I look forward to watching the film as it was a fantastic novel.

You are right that a clip that short doesn't lend itself to much editorialization, :) However I can promise you that this is used in a beautiful way. It literally is used to metaphorically "launch" the main character's decision to take a journey, to reach beyond the safe/sameness of their Future society and to search for a larger more expressive world. It is a part of a montage but it kicks it off.

I want you to know I was able to reach the filmmakers last night and they've agreed to our use of the clip. I looked through a slew of base jumping videos, trying without success to find theirs and I'm grateful to you for the lead. If I can send you a small gift certificate or something, I would be happy to do so. As you know, it's a beautiful film clip and I was getting really worried about trying to replace it. Although there are many beautiful jump videos including RedBull Media which I belong to, that one is very special.
