The cause is thought to be a bad spot which left him too low to clear a hill he had planned to do. Realised and pulled too late, and impacted before full deployment.

This was a jump to commemorate Alvaro Bulto. Very sad.

Looks like it was a skydive and not a base jump.

Just looked into the link you used and it doesn't mention there that he exited from a paramotor.

This is the jump that was meant to be (my inbox is on fire with friends in Spain sending me stuff, Dario was a celebrity and the the event is plastered all over the news)
