Chest Strap Issues
Anyone ever had issues with a rig made for them not seeming right? I had a Helium made last year that I've just begun to jump more frequently and I've realized that the chest strap seems considerably higher than normal. As a result, on at least two of the last ten jumps it has nailed me in the neck.

Is there a need and/or way to address this? Harness rework or something?

Thanks!

Re: [jduff] Chest Strap Issues
Is it possible the leg straps are slipping?

Why not just call or email Morpheus

It is possible, but I don't think it's likely. I'm thinking I would have noticed a slip significant enough to cause a problem. Nevertheless, I will check it this weekend.

Yeah I will probably contact them. It's just been a while since it was made, and I wanted to get some feedback here first.

I've attached some screenshots showing where it sits before and after/during deployment. Notice I'm not smiling in the second pic. Laugh

Is that a second hand rig?

It doesn't look sized for you.

Being a bigger guy I've always jumped second hand rigs that fit me poorly, both in skydiving and BASE environments. Maybe that's why it's taken me this long to notice, but this rig was supposed to be made to my measurements.

that thing looks pretty small. Even the laterals look like they are in your ribs, almost to your armpits. Crazy

I love that picture. There are several dimensions that have to kind of balance out to make a harness work. For example for one container size you might need more then one yoke measurement or you might have to add stager to the MLW to place the rig on the right spot on your back behind your shoulders. I'm guessing that you have a long main lift web, tall guy. It looks like they simply extended the MLW to try to fit you. The chest strap needs to be moved down the MLW. It's not that hard. You could send it back and have them do it for you. I'm sure they would be happy to. Or any competent rigger with a seven class and good 5 cord can do it for you. If it were TSO'ed it would need to be a master rigger. Just make sure they are competent.

It's really hard to fit a harness to some one you've never seen. The measurements just don't tell the whole story. They do a pretty good job.

I jumped today and confirmed the leg straps aren't slipping. And, yes, my MLW is pretty dang long. Sounds like an easy fix so I might just have a local rigger do it to avoid the downtime. Thanks for the advice!
