thinking I might drive from Munich to Lauterbrunnen later this year, just wondering about how many tolls there are on the way?

Re: [Dadsy] travel to the valley
germany is toll free.
in switzerland you need to buy the "autobahn vignette" which costs CHF 30.-- and is valid for one year.

Germany: Toll free, as mentioned.

Austria: If you pass via Bregenz and the Austrian freeway (which makes sense to save time, but could be avoided if you want) you need to buy a "Vignette", it starts at EUR 8.50 for a duration of 10 days, or EUR 24.80 for a duration of 2 months.

Switzerland: You need to buy a "Vignette" as well for use of the freeways (which is almost unavoidable), it is valid for a year (there is just one version) which costs EUR 33.00 or CHF 40.

Oh, and when driving through Switzerland avoid speeding, if you get caught speeding and have to pay the fine it can be hefty - you do not want that toll ;).

Re: [Dadsy] travel to the valley
in Hungary there is E-Vignette (you register your plates and pay at the gas station, no sticker) prices and info here: http://www.motorway.hu/

in CZ you need to buy a sticker if you are going to use the highway (http://www.motorway.cz/stickers)
