Does anyone know the approximate glide ratio you need to fly at to make it over the main landing area at a reasonable height?

1200m alt, 1.5km to LZ edge and 1.7km to the bar.

L/D required depends on how you look at it - i used to take 200m off for start and opening, making it 1.5 to LZ and 1.7 to the bar, but that's not a very reasonable opening height ;-)
