Hi guys/girls

I'm thinking of coming to the valley next week and would like some advise on Accom and if there's any jumpers willing to let me jump with them on the blue exit points only done a couple of skydives with my tracking suit you see and I've got 50 BASE jumps

I think they mark the blue for easy
Red for medium
Black for hard or not recommended

Re: [dobbers] Lauterbrunnen
Be careful with only a couple skydives on track suit. (I didn't heed this warning at first with around 10 skydives on mine and had one squirly moment on la mouse that was pretty scary) about a year later I gave same advice to a friend that didn't heed it (again couple skydives on suit) and he almost went in on la mousse after an uncontrollable turn back toward the wall. He regained control and got track going then over delayed trying to get separation. (Canopy literally opened below treetops in the woods at base of talus and he was "caught" by a big soft pile of leaves) took him a couple minutes of laying there and breathing heavily to realize he wasn't dead and he was completely unscathed. A bruise on his leg I think. (There is video btw)

If you can get more flights on suit, of course is a wise decision! If you do jump it, be careful!!!

Re: [wasatchrider] Lauterbrunnen
that's probably the biggest miss-understanding that happens every year...

blue jump's are NOT easy as the hole valley is no beginner field - it are just the most safe jumps OF the valley.

for example yellow might be overhang from top to talus, but it is not too easy to track as it's all jump subterminal. if beginners come down from bigwall norway and think oh yes great a blue easy jump usually they will not make too much of track on yellow because it's very low altitude.

as long as you do not get a good track within the first 5-7 sec you will have canopy openings close to the walls at almost every jump in the valley.

there is no jump in the valley where you reach terminal speed with exception that you are an experienced good tracker or on the "black" jumps.

Re: [elex] Lauterbrunnen
Just my little experience.
I did 30 tracksuits jumps from a plane, 10 from ITW and then I went to the valley. I jump Nose. Maybe the mug, maybe an unlucky moment, maybe an unexpected error, I went completely head down on my exit. I regained the position and tracked, but not so much as I would. I had a 120 off on opening, quickly solved and safely landed.
What I think is that my previous 40 jumps gave me a little more confidence on my tracksuit to not let me panic on that situation. This is why I planned to do 20 more before coming back to the valley.
I meant, if everything goes well, you don't need extra skill. But having them could help in critical situation.

Point taken. I've been there but I went after more than 500 BASE jumps and they were easy to me compared to the stuff I'm used to jumping.
