Does anyone see any reason not to use these materials for a container?

Re: [HunterSHOTWELL] material
I've been doing a ton of researching all over for different materials for a little project I'm working on myself. I two found these sites.

Lots of fabrics are similar but from what I have gathered its the quality control process that is different. As well as what is used for coatings. When your order from someone like Paragear its different then just ordering some 400 denier nylon cloth.

If I where constructing something like a container that is not solely for learning purpose but will go into actual use I would stick with a reputable dealer.

I have found that you can order a lot of these fabrics through place's like performance designs, etc but in the end that are all about the same price.

That is just what I've found out. I'm sure there are other reasons why and hopefully someone who knows more will chime in because I was interested myself.

For now I'm using the super cheap junk to get a working model then use the nice stuff when it comes to form.

Re: [HunterSHOTWELL] material
I build containers and speedflying harnesses commercially and live in colorado, so I often order my materials from rockywoods, but my main source is seattlefabrics. There's no reason not to use that fabric for a container. Rockywoods has some cool polyester diamond fabric that I use more of than parapack, I buy it in 50 yards rolls pretty cheap from them.

I use the parapack for the back pads/insides of leg straps etc. I use cordura for the main body of the container, and that would be my suggestion. If you are looking for a lighter rig, just use 500D cordura instead of 1000.

Re: [ineed2fly] material
Listen to what He ( ineed2fly ) Say's
dont use that as outer shell . Use 400 den. weight nylon or similar as 'Inner Lining' . NOT on the outside finish shell . Only Use 1-k Den. nylon ' Cordura' or Korean 'Kodra' for rugged and lasting .
400 den. weight material like you are looking @ isn't going to get you anywhere for the long haul for abrasion and weave bond .

Re: [RayLosli] material
not to thread jack but does rockywoods.com have something similar to ZP.

I found this http://www.rockywoods.com/Fabrics-Kits/Ripstop-Nylon-Fabrics/30D-Double-Silicone-Coated-Ripstop-Nylon-Fabric

but was wondering if they had something closer.

Does anyone know the denier # of the parapack and diamondfabric used by morpheus tech on their helium rigs?

All depends on what you are using it for. Of course some guys also can't be trusted to look after their gear ;-)

How about you order some fabric sample packets and decide what you want to use.
