2nd Indoor BASE World Cup 2013
Hey, thought I'd write a few words about the event in Berlin, Germany, last weekend. It was called the 2nd Indoor BASE World Cup 2013, and it was held at the Tropical Islands resort near Berlin. The place was built to be an airship hangar, and its quite a concept. Its 107m high on the inside, with a tropical climate. http://en.wikipedia.org/...pical_Islands_Resort About 60 jumpers from 16 nations participated in the two-day competition (classic accuracy). Top performers in 4 competition rounds were:
1. Klaus Renz and Tobi Scherrinsky
2. Robi Pecnik
3. Maurizio Di Palma
The event was super nicely organized, and jumpers were taken care of very well. Overall vibe at the dome was relaxed and friendly. To top off the event there was a 63-way world record jump made on Sunday. The record was all static line and there were about 5 seconds between jumpers. It was good fun and the audience as well as jumpers were stoked.
A big big thank you to the German organizers, especially big boss man Mahle Mühling. HAMMER!
Here's a few video clips, it was apparently pretty well broadcasted on atleast German tv.
