Aquismom has 2 1-star hotels . Ciudad Valles in about 1:30 from the cave , and has a wider selection of hotels. I would call first to see if it's been raining. Last time I floated down this time of year, you had to leave your vehicle, take two seperate boats with about 5 miles of hiking , and a pricey 4*4 ride for the final leg to get to the community around te cave.
In any case , you'll need a high clearance , preferably 4*4 vehicle.to drive 45 minutes up a pretty rugged road from Aquismom to the hole .
Have a great time .... San Luis Potosí is a unique state, and the local indigenous Indians that live around the cave are amazing folks.

Go visit Edward James' Las Pozas if you're touristing around there. It's well worth the half day or so of walking around and checking it out.
