Turkey Boogie...Base jumpers giving back
Every year there is a large gathering a BASE jumpers that heads to Moab around Thanksgiving, "the Turkey Boogie." A few of us came up with idea of making it a fundraiser for the local Search and Rescue team this year. SAR, and Moab alike, have been great to BASE over the years. It is a good cause and a little positive publicity can't hurt what we are all passionate about. If you are heading to the boogie this year, be sure to check out the raffle and accuracy event. ALL of the money raised will be donated to Search and Rescue. The events are being run entirely on donations of companies and individuals. If you would like to donate to the event, buy raffle tickets but arent attending the boogie, have something to raffle off, or have an idea about how we could possibly raise a bit more money please message me. We have had a ton of support so far. We have a facebook page, please share it and like it. I have been in contact with the Moab Sun News and they are interested. I am not looking for personal attention for this and therefor have asked local jumpers to do any interviewing. I am currently looking for ways to get climbers, hikers, bikers, slack liners, and the such involved bc search and rescue supports all of us. Equally important is their opinion of us and what we do. All of the typical madness and mayhem is still planned for the boogie so bring a few bucks to give to search and rescue, then lets go have some fun.

Oh, typical internet sarcasm and condescending remarks expected.....

get a local brewery to donate a few kegs and then charge 5 bucks for a cup.

Not entirely opposed. In fact, I love where your head is at. I was trying to keep alcohol away from it bc we turn into maniacs but this is a really good suggestion. Thanks! I will totally look into it. I'm Also working on getting a few local businesses to let us set up change collection buckets for the month. The problem with Moab locals is they're all too busy enjoying Moab :)

I just wanted to follow up because i did get a ton of feedback, support, and people offering to donate when I first posted here. The fundraiser for grand county (Moab) search and rescue has gained a ton of support and momentum. We have thousands of dollars in donations ranging from cash to MASSIVE discounts on just about every wingsuit in the game (7 such discount),g form body armor, pilot chutes, discounts on containers, and on and.... Check out the page and think about of there is anyway you can support this event. Moab has supported base for years and lots of jumpers/companies have found a way to "give back" a bit. No donation is too small. I was able to take checks or cash when I first posted but we have a procedure for that now too. The final donation will be in Mario Richards name. Mario did a ton for base and Moab and it is better than anyone of us taking the recognition. Support us!!! It's thanksgiving...so give and be thankful.....have fun and be rad :)

The Big Air XX IPA is choice too, all of the brews I've tried are tasty. Sooo tasty.
