Hi my name is Will and here is a little about me. I have 240 skydives and 2 BASE jumps, both of which were made at this past Bridge Day. I live in north central Florida and was wondering if anyone would like to show me the ropes. I have lurked on here for a while and have a basic understanding of how you need to put in your time doing ground crew and driving before earning your right to jump. So if anyone would like to take me along to help out let me know. thanks.

sounds pretty douchey to make somebody drive them around before they will teach you to base jump

I would think ideally you'd find a friend that is experience base jumper and would be psyched to teach you to base jump so she could have another friend local that she could jump with and travel with - like a partnership. I've experienced this with climbing many times (on either end of the experience spectrum) and my only instruction in BASE has been from friends who were psyched that I was looking forward to making some jumps.

Hopefully your mentor is nicer than making you an indentured servant or then again maybe your mentor doesnt have a car

Go to your drop zone and find the locals, and ask them in person.

240 skydives and you haven't come across any BASE jumpers?

do you happen to have a buddy you skydive with named fernando?

Who did you come to BD with?

Some friends of mine who currently jump and used to jump at my DZ. No one had more than 6 BASE jumps though. I only know of two expirenced base jumpers in my area and like avenfoto said I will try to speak to them in person.
