9 of 31 rangers are still working at the New River. The rangers told me directly that Bridge Day won't be affected. I'll know more at the Bridge Day Commission meeting on Wednesday.

Once again, Bridge Day 2013 is a go. The Bridge Day Commission meeting today confirmed it. Hopefully I won't get any further calls or emails about it. Hiking trails are open. The NPS visitor center is closed. See you all in a week.

October 4 was the deadline for sending background check info to the sheriff. However, background checks are only done once, so you can still register for BD if you've registered or jumped at Bridge Day since 2002. Reminder: We only have a few slots left. Onsite sign-ups at the Holiday Lodge will only be granted to those who've registered or jumped at Bridge Day since 2002.

The 10 forecast shows the high at 60 with a 30% chance of rain and the river is +1.72 feet above normal summer pool level and dropping!

I agree that background checks suck, but it's not my rule and it's their bridge. Ironically, no jumper has ever failed the background check. If you have any suggestions, I'm all ears.
