Mental preparation
Hi!

So grateful for such a valuable resource and all you helpful people. I may or may not have pulled half an allnighter completely consumed by this new obsession.

My question is - how can I prepare myself for the psychological obstacles in BASE jumping?
What have you found to be helpful?
Have you restructured your life/death philosophy?
Do you meditate? Visualize?

Massive thanks in advance. Incase anybody worries - I'll focus on solid skydiving experience first, of course. I just believe that being a mind ninja is especially importing in this kind of lifestyle.

I'm not sure what kinds of other crazy risk taking activities you do that force one to visualize restructuring their life death philosophy, but I would say two things:

1) Good about focusing on skydiving first

2) Try to just let go of any preconceptions you have about the abilities and choices involved in the "lifestyle." Take your time moving slowly through the progression, and you'll see what works for others and what you might want to try for yourself. I find most skydivers and base jumpers I know aren't exactly "mind ninjas" but they've figured something out.

I took my tampon out and didn't listen to anymore bullshit skydivers. Worked like a charm.

What is a bullshit skydiver? I wish to understand this and only listen, not to the bullshit skydivers, but the skydivers that are not classified as such.

I've been a mind ninja in training for a large portion of this current lifetime. I wish to continue learning true spiritual openness. Longing to understand not only the good, but also the bad. Doing so will help keep the bad CRUSHED, by a vast sea of love and happiness. Jump for joy, jump for cheese, jump for peace and tranquility ... be open with the mind, and.... also with the parachute.

Good question. A bullshit skydiver watches lots of youtube videos and drops a lot of names.

Example: "You see my boy *insert name of BASE jumper who's name has been dropped and you are supposed to be impressed, but you don't actually know them* video? We're planning a Perrine trip. Its gonna be sick"

Before I became a mind ninja, my feelings would've been hurt. Now that I've had mind ninja training, just like Alexander Polli, shit just rolls off my fucking back. In fact, I bet you hurt your own feelings with that dig!

Who wants to carpool with me to bridge day?

my best no shit advice is to go read the base fatality list and then go through the incidents forum reading shit that has happened and why. for the insant gratification go through the sticky file of incident videos. realize this is a dangerous activity and the chances of you getting injured and or killed are extremely high. do not try and kid yourself.
