Mojo compared to vented Troll?
How does the Mojo compare to a vented Troll?

I have the opportunity to buy a Mojo that has a low number of jumps and I'm considering it as I need a second rig. I mainly jump a Troll and I like that for everything - from wingsuit jumps to very low slider down.

Cheers

I own multiple examples of both canopies. They fly very similarly, but the vented canopy will have much cleaner slider down pressurization.

How new is your Troll? Until about 2005, the canopies were almost identical. Newer Trolls have continued to evolve, so you may discover the Mojo has much worse flare than your Troll depending on the age of the Troll.

Hey TA, Flying is one thing. Response is another and more important IMHO. How would you rate the 2 canopies on on a correcting a 180 scenario?

I think it's easier to avoid striking the object on the unvented version, but that you are likely to be more seriously injured if you do strike the object under it.

The vented canopy is harder to avoid the strike, but will probably result in less serious injuries if a strike does occur.

Assuming that he's using his 'A' rig for the slider down, solid object jumps, though, object avoidance should not be an issue with the back up rig.

Thanks for the reply. My Troll is from 2010 but has over 400 jumps on it.

I suspect that the Troll is "better" simply because it is much newer technology, but it sounds (correct me if I'm wrong) that it's not that much of a difference?

Yes. I don't think there's a huge difference.

Your 2010 Troll will likely have better flare, and I expect that to be the major difference you will notice.

Thanks Tom.What I notice is that in flight/flare, the Troll has much more range. Meaning that i need to flare higher., But I can still sink it, stand upable.

Whenever I'm sinking my Mojo for a small LZ I always smile because I simply love how it drops straight down like an elevator for me. Flare is weak in my opinion but I still just love the thing. 500 bucks with probably 5 jumps on it and it's served me well. Love it and would never part with it.
