Non-fatal accident in Germany
Raphael Schlegel survived.
Gute Besserung!

Someone cares to comment on what happened? The press says sth about parachute did not open, but that leaves a lot of interpretations...

Glorifying article in top grossing German tabloid's website:

Hi there,
what my informations are:
Raph jumped the "Frau Bach" at night and had a 90 left.
His fellows observed a flight straight into some trees close to the street.
Raph fell onto the meadow and got serious injured (head, spine).
They called the rescue and Raph was brought to the hospital.

The latest news state that he is able to talk, will get full recovery and he is asking for his phone... So let us all hope for a fast healing.

As he is not able to remember details yet, all thoughts about possible twists, locked brakes, or anything else cannot be answered from my side at this time.
As soon as we have reliable answers why he wasn´t able to correct a 90 left, we will let you know.

I suppose, that the federal police will have a closer look at this object right now to prevent you from risking your health.

Take care outside.

Its important to check all the details first, and care must be taken to avoid the chances of the accidents.

Re: [Hajo] Non-fatal accident in Germany
This is a very beautiful object. Please oh please try not to jump it when already injured and fatigued and without any protective gear. And if you must still jump under those conditions and can't stop yourself, please don't have off headings! ;-) Several unfortunate avoidable "occurrences" at this site (that I know of, may be more even), and it sucks to see everything like this. I love Raphael and is a good friend for a long time, but please save your luck-bucket scoops for the stuff you can't control!

I will likely piss some people off with this post... But my desire to protect these nice objects is just as righteous as those that would argue it is an individual jumpers right to jump without a helmet. The only difference is there are no cons to trying to perform a safe jump so that you might prevent the negative attention. ;-) be safe! (Only if you want to of course) ;-)
