Wikipedia gives Everest's elevation as 1300 m above Changtse, but I'd never have guessed that big a difference from the photo. If I understand you correctly, I've got a whole new appreciation for the scale of Everest.
Yes 1300m more is enormous in mountains and in high altitude, and what you see from ground is very difficult to appreciate. All alpinists know that when you think to arrive to the summit it is not the summit but just one more step under it.
Landing zone of Rosov jump or intermediate camp on Rongbuk glacier is at 6000m, North Col at 7000m, Rosov exit at 7200m and summit of Changtse at 7600m.
Yes it is a bit over BASE but it is not a BASE jump from Everest, and not an exit on Everest too, close yes but not Mt Everest but Mt Changtse. Just a little little, very little detail! Like to be filmed after the landing with the north face of Everest behind. More commercial of course.
Beautiful jump anyway!
