I don't know what to say.

I always kind of figured you could tell how good some one was by the ratio of how long they have been doing some thing to how many oh shit stories they have. In other words devide the number of jumps you have by the number of times you've almost died. some body that's good... that ratio is high.

It's not my life but I submit to you that fifty jumps per oh shit is not high. Have you ever tried golf? No scratch that, lightening. How bout tennis maybe even bowling?

I am giving you shit but please don't take it out of proportion. Yes I and every one else have had... moments. That just seems like an aufally big collection of video. But hay, way to not be dead.

Edited to add: if you didn't really hit that then I understand...but please tell me you tried. Keep the videos coming. Especially that space line (or space station) stuff. That shit is #1 sick.

Must respectfully disagree... high jump-to-oh-shit ratios don't necessarily mean you're good; they are just as likely to mean you're padding your logbook with potato jumps and following in the ruts of others.

Check the "Potato Ratio" and "Pioneer Ratio" along with the "Oh Shit Ratio and then maybe you'll have a more meaningful statistical correlation.

The difference between superior pilots and superior BASE jumpers... the pilot is striving to be superiorly boring!

At #10, and then #9, I would wonder about what I was teached
At #8 I would look for a mentor (or for changing him)
At #7 I would quit the sport, totally
...
At #2 I would think to have consumed my nine lives available
At #1 Well, if I'm still alive I'd think to be God, otherwise I'd think to be in Paradise and I can do whatever jump I want. Both cases, I don't care...

Andy, I love your highlining stuff, even if when you walk without assurance (or naked). But, if someone look at you without rope tied to the highline, easily understand you can die falling off and will not try at home by himself.
When someone looks at your sketchiest base jumps and see you surviving and continuing doing that...I think it has a pretty negative educational impact on the sport.
Just my opinion (I'm an old guy with very few jumps, really far from 500th).

Sure, the video is entertaining but shouldn't people in the spotlight do a better job of promoting skill instead of luck in order to not have more people emulating the same sketchy acts?

I was thinking the same thing, then I thought fuck it, this sport is all about freedom and if people want to throw down and do wild shit, then go right ahead! The only thing that makes that kind of shit dangerous is when they start taking students! Rock on you sketchy mofo!

All I saw in that video was some slack-liner with zero canopy skills or ability to plan a jump trying to get base footage for his next youtube video....

Andy has had to land had to land safely on almost as many exits as you have BASE jumps. Bad situations come up when you have as many jumps as him. If I had a video on all my jumps my top ten would probably just as bad. Post again when you have 500 jumps in about 15 years at your rate.
