That was a nasty off heading but I fail to see how he fell with no parachute.

BTW, some history: In 1980, BASE #1 Phil Smith, BASE #2 Phil Mayfield, BASE #22 Jim Tyler, along with Hank Asciutto and me jumped from the Royal Gorge Bridge in Colorado. Hank got nailed by some weird turbulence and spun into the wall, then bounced and dribbled down the wall much as you did, except for 600 feet, his parachute collapsing more and more with each impact.

He landed on his feet on the old wooden aquaduct at the bottom and its collapse broke his fall kinda like the wet suit rack broke yours.

He broke one ankle (minor break), needed eight stitches to close a cut under his eye, and felt like he'd been in a football game with no pads, but was otherwise uninjured.

So you have at least one brother from another mother when it comes to surviving a long-distance bounce down a mountainside. Good on ya, and yeah, that "don't cut my gear" line was classic.
