Re: [base283] Crossed toggles
I'm wondering if anyone who labels L and R toggles ever put them on backwards, and then switched them when they saw the error, but they accidentally wrapped them further when they did so and then jumped it that way. So a full wrap in the middle of brake line down to the toggles on the correct risers. Anyone ever heard of that silly misrigging error? That could be funny say from the bridge with a water landing... It'd be hard to tell which way to untangle them right off. Crazy

Re: [CF36] Crossed toggles
In my years of rigging sky/BASE/paragiders, I always thought the L and R were to let them know which way the canopy would turn if they pulled it. It adds an extra step but it works. Open, grab toggs, read the toggle and turn accordingly. I cant see any other use for L&R labeling. The prob it seems is packing continuity. One may not see the whole picture and have divided it up into steps without relationships to the other steps. I view a pack job in its entirety. Left side and lines go to the left riser ect. And i never jump without socks. well maybe once.

Re: [base283] Crossed toggles
i thought it was for impending object strikes where they want to quickly whip around using a toggle turn.

open, read both L and R, decide which direction you want to turn, unstow, make sure that L is in left hand and R is in right hand, and crank the chosen toggle in the direction that it tells you to.
