Can anyone think of a good reason not to use this helmet for BASE?

How heavy is it? Whiplash from openings with a heavy helmet can suck.

I was just looking at that, Tom. It's pretty heavy; 3.8 lbs......

2 good reasons,

It looks silly (fashion first)

Who wants to wear a helmet that big that doesn't have face protection

Yeah if it's just a 3/4 shell, it's already kinda silly. No face protection at all. I wouldn't use one of those for Motorcycle riding so I sure wouldn't use one for BASE.

I've skydived in a Motorcycle helmet to get a picture. They're HUGE. Your head will possibly be constricted by the risers because they're so much wider than other helmet. Terminal jumps in a skydiving helmet sucks. They're just big and bulky.

The face shield on a Moto helmet is awesome. The stay shut and still come open easy. That's the only benefit.

Just got one of these it's pretty awesome and very very light, with face protection and only $260 delivered.

I've jumped in a borrowed 661 DH mountain bike helmet without the visor. Not quite as big as my dirt bike helmet and a lot lighter. Plus they are inexpensive.
