Re: [boachanoff] Low
I dont know of the incident you speak of. Post it. I went from high to low to high again. It had more to do with the available objects. Do you actually know of jumpers going lower and lower? They are few. There is no future in low stuff. I am an expert on low stuff. I know. I am not going to bragg but stuff was too low to be considered a BASE jump. PM me and we should be able to srt it out.

Huh, I thought it was about finding personal limits..

THERE is no limit to how high.... just how low..

Hesitation for sure. At least the pilotchute didn't. Wink

Re: [thedude325] Low
I got no room to talk because I jumped the shit out of that site for years . & 'Almost' doesn't count, but you kinda hesitated Almost past the point of no-return, & went way late on that 2nd jumpers exit & jumped over the steep talus/hillside rather than over the creek bottom .
I know that looks fun (& did look cool) on the Vid. but Jumping Hof. off the top of moving car ? You pussies couldn't just exit from the top of Deck for a nice High Exit . or walk the steel under the Deck to exit ?

hell yeah! haha any info on the setup (cutaway system, pc combo etc)?

Re: [RayLosli] Low
Yikes! jumper number 2 took that WAY long! Pretty lucky to get out of that without at least a tree landing.

Re: [thedude325] Low
wow, is that low? maybe i have a dif def.
Shortcut
Re: [RayLosli] Low
Haha, yah its not as high as I though either. I double gainered it a few years back and had to do a 180 to landing, wasnt super high.

That is what i always log

Re: [baseknut] Low
its 375'... and we contemplated what we wanted to do for the jump itself. Standard gainers or flat and stable? Floater one side and forward the other...nothing seemed as fun as this. Sure it added a little to the jump, and was probably an unnecessary risk, but it was fun, and planned out. For the most part. Oh, And thanks to Kyle, Our randomly picked up driver from the local dz..

looked like fun to me. Smile

Re: [blitzkrieg] Low
I put myself in the trees off of that bridge. Took it deep and had a 90 left. Turned it around and ran out of altitude. Snapped one tree in half and then crashed into the tree line next to the creek bed. Got lucky and walked away. Just limped around for a week. Awesome bridge.

Re: [base283] Low
My definition of low is freefall under 200, SL under 120.
Shortcut
Re: [hjumper33] Low
i Agree. I did some rig designs that worked out to linelength and leg long. but 12ft is not really a BASE JUMP. Otherwise, 200ff and 120 is very respectable. That is LOW!!!!

Kinda looks like someone forgot that when they jump from a moving vehicle, they won't fall straight downTongue

Re: [TransientCW] Low
Just saying, It's just looks on Vid. Looks like jumper #2 got caught down by the far right-side concrete support column by right hill Talus on moving Vehicle exit . But I Bet, that is a mistake He wont make again ... LOL .. <|; )

And Ya it's plenty High for good safe fun jumps there been a lot of double gainers & fun jumping stunts off the lower steel under the deck . 'but' that span has actually bitten a lot of people in the ass over the years since it was built . & over the years I am sure the jumps total off the span are several thousand . So that is not to bad of Ratio .

Span is high & safe for experienced jumpers . but Span gives the illusion of more canopy flight ( pilot user fly time ) especially pilots have gotten bitten when they alter there main game plan for a quick panic change on final approach to landing .
plus : Just for a proper standing Spot position on the exit . The correct best Exit spot is actually not in-line of the primary LZ, ( Right side of water ) . but actually Exit Left-side of water natural feature and primary LZ .
In the ' Minds Eye ' of the jumper he/she instinctively picks the Spot to exit over top & inline with primary LZ . but in reality you should Exit down farther left & then sashay back to the right for your final approach and main LZ landing .
It's mainly not a height problem 'what happens ' ( and this has happened a ShitLoad of times ) People exit over & in-line with LZ . But in reality this is real close the left-side of the Hill-side Talus . & then when a jumper busts a good 90 to 120 deg. off heading Left . He/she burns off to much altitude on the heading correction & getting to final approach . Which leaves them kicking the tree tops or getting caught low-Alt. in weird summertime/full foliage wind rotors & they get dumped . been a lot of Talus & tree landings in this happening also .

Then, there is the other side of the Span Roadway to Jump . That is a TIGHT & tricky fucker & it has & i'm sure gets Exited, but odds are if you continuously play on that side of Span . Your luck is going to runout & you will get a Bad Experience .

prime example ray. only reason im showing this is because i fucked up bad and this is what not to do. plus i was WASTED and reaction time was piss poor. not gonna make that mistake again. i forgot my armor because i was drinking, and i slid into solid rocks on my shin and kneebone. when i stood up i thought my kneecap was shattered as well as my tib, but i got LUCKY and only got bad swelling and permanent tendonitis in my kneecap.

im an idiot, what can i say

Re: [try2live] Low
Ya the place grows way to fast & years ago I cleaned that LZ out a few times myself .
Righteously that is a chore that should be passed-down to every upcoming local & should be done every spring by whoever local BASE crew that is cutting there teeth or staying current these days on that Span. Good for everyone & especially good for the Out-of-Towners that passing threw to get one off it .

Best thing to do is just a couple guys take 2 Bow-saws & tie a pilot chute to them & toss them off before you jump . Then it only take about an hour for 2 guys to cut down all the low growth & suckers that are in that LZ . We 'never' cut the tall stuff below that you exit over (good visual groundrush) but just cut, cleanout & drag all that riffraff shit especially that snags your canopy on the main LZ .

Re: [RayLosli] Low
Last time I was there the tree farm people sat on our containers while we packed, and then drove us to the middle to exit.

they mentioned a clearing of the area was being discussed within the next couple years

but, i agree. come on locals Wink

Ahhh, bullshit! Let it grow, and if someone can't land there, then they shouldn't jump there. If you want a manicured landing zone, go to the potato! (With any due respect) tight landings and fat chicks is what makes Washington, Washington!
