CWY static - how to preserve bridle
Hello everybody. I tried the cwy made by apex (using apex procedure) and I noticed (apart that it works fine) that the bridle tends to get consumed fast (I do not really know if faster that a standard static line, I'm not enough experienced to judge).
I was wondering if it could be a good idea to put in the overhand knot you do in the middle of the bridle a connector link (and maybe the same in the loop of the pc attachment). In this way there will be more friction between the link and the bridle but the metal should not create any burns on it.
What do you think about it? AM I wrong? Someone tried it?
Do you think there are other safety constrains I'm not considering?
Thanks for your input

I use a hard link to help keep my bridal from getting damaged. It works well and I noticed considerably less stress on my bridal.

If you make a lot of static line jumps maybe you should get another bridle just for SL. I have one, it even has with a loop
on it to tie the SL to. Yeah its a little bit extra rigging switching bridle every now and then but so what. At least you don't have to worry about the abuse and this way you have a SL setup ready to go at all times, just switch bridles and you are good to go.

Right, but I'd like to avoid consuming it even if it is a dedicated one... just for more safety...

I use a link, on a dedicated bridle, and the wear on the bridle is minimal. Also, if you tie a figure eight instead of an over hand, it's easier to untie after it has been shock loaded a few times.
