Re: [gahnananana] twin falls info
we have 2 florida crews going out there, one in the first part of may "you scared crew" and then another florida crew in the middle of june. weather is cold out there in april. fly into either twin falls or salt lake city and make the drive.

It gets pretty windy later in the spring. The sooner you make the trip the better weather you're likely to get. There are a number of hotels within walking distance of the bridge and there are restaurants everywhere, so you don't really need a car except to get to/from town from the airport if you fly into TWF (15 minutes south of the bridge, across town). Sometimes it's cheaper to fly to SLC and then rent a car and drive the 225 miles up to twin, but if you're alone and have nobody to spit the cost with, it's probably cheaper to fly direct to TWF and skip the car.

The last few times I've gone, I've flown into Boise. I found plane tickets were cheap (enough), car rentals were cheaper than Salt Lake, and the drive from Boise to Twin Falls is shorter than from Salt Lake.

Just be aware that if you fly into Boise late at night, the rental car desks may all be closed. (This can be true of the smaller rental companies in Salt Lake, too.)

Spring is the worst jumping season here because of inconsistent weather and high winds. I'd recommend either coming very soon or holding off until June.

The local newspaper also printed a story yesterday saying that the bridge resurfacing project that was originally planned for last summer is supposed to happen in May of this year.

Fuck, me and a bunch of friends just purchased tickets to go out to Twin Falls from May 9 - 14. Do you think they will ask that jump operations be shut down while the maintenance is happening? Not sure how people jumping off the bridge would affect maintenance but it sure would suck to come all the way out there and not be able to jump. If any of you locals like Tom, Chuma or Tree have any more inside information on this, can you please let us know ASAP so we can have a plan B, thanks!

The ITD has told us that one side of the bridge should be open for jumping almost all the time. There may be a few hours when they are hanging stuff down off the bridge and you can't jump, but most of the time you will be able to jump, although sometimes you may have to use the dark side instead of the regular side.

Thanks Tom for the quick reply, the dark side is better than nothing! Jeremy, yeah can't push it back because of Euro trip and we already purchased tickets anyway. Hope to run into you soon man!

I'm hoping to go out on a graduation trip to Moab/Twin at the beginning/middle of June. How's the wind/temps in Moab around then?
