Re: [veryformal] first rig - easiest to pack ?
Re: [veryformal] first rig - easiest to pack ? Easiest to pack or close? You pack a canopy and close the container. Any container is going to be difficult to close if your pack job, you know, the folded up canopy, isn't dialed in.
In my own opinion a beginner, on his own, like you obviously are, not having a dialed in pack job, could lead to disaster. PC(pilot chute) in tow, or a horseshoe, neigh, not what you are thinking, it's when your canopy comes out of the container while you are in freefall and the PC(see above) stays in the BOC(Bag of chalk)(just kidding, Bottom of Container).
Now if you had a Velcro container, then your pack job could suffer a little bit until you got it down pat. But then again, garbage in, garbage out! But as long as you follow the three basic principles of packing you should, and I use that term lightly, be OK, as long as you are on a forgiving object, like a beginner should be.
And one more thing, There isn't a beginner rig, this sport offers no forgiveness to ANYBODY! Not me. Not you. BASE could kill you easily on your 1300th jump or your first jump. Read the BFL, there are first time jumpers on the list. In skydiving you have a big ass container with all kinds of safety switches, levers, flaps and releases and bells and whistles, two canopies, and a computer all safely put in place right in between two veteran instructors who are there to literally hold your hand. Absolutely none of which is offered in BASE.
So, back up and start over. Forget about tracking pants for a while and read!
