Re: [WingedWarrior] Wingsuit jumps from paragliding
I would like to ask why do you want to jump from a paraglider with a WS?
Some very good guys went in doing this who wanted WS air time without going skydiving.
Vampires are great for jumping from the passenger harness as you can pass the PG leg straps through the leg duct hole - meaning you can take off already with the leg wing in place.
The PG harness buckles have various designs, most don't release under tension so best test it on the ground, others feature a T cross piece - perfect for hooking your suit up on exit, so stow it carefully.
Ensure there is enough space in the tandem harness for your rig so that you can sit reclined taking the weight off the PG leg straps for exit.
If you jump a WS without leg duct you need to put the leg wing on before exit which can be tricky, again best try this on the ground (the PG harness can be suspended to simulate your position in flight)
Some basic paragliding skills can also help - so you can be more 'useful' during take off.
Another guy was killed several years ago when he exited too low over the mountainside trying to line up for a proximity flight, the PG pilot can hopefully assist in judging elevation over the terrain.
Pal Takats has done solo WS jumps using a cut away harness - you would need to add slots to the front of your suit for the PG risers /harness.
PG jumps are a lot of fun but IMO should be done with caution and adequate preparation.
