You can get a toxic any way you want it, with any handle configuration.

External: Same as standard skydiving style, with PVC (pipe) piece sewn to outside.

Internal: Same PVC handle, but sewn inside the fabric, so it's completely covered (reduced chance of snagging your finger in it).

Floating: Same PVC handle, but not attached to the PC. You drop it inside and position it as you wish while packing. When you throw, it "floats" inside the PC so it does not weight the skin or cause a potential snag point for the bridle.

I tried read'n it too and it didn't make much sense until I saw he was from Germany. So I read it with my best Sgt, Schultz accent and it made perfect sense.

Edited to add:No offense flowers.

Re: [flowers] Asylum Toxic PC
Be warned I ordered a Toxic and a regular PC at the start of September last year. Still not made and shipped. Don't bother if you're in a rush.

I have and jump a no handle toxic and totally dig it. Fast turnaround as well. You get what you pay for, and Martys gear is the best.

Re: [flowers] Asylum Toxic PC
anybody care to eplainn what are the differences/pros/cons of series 6 and 7?
Shortcut
Re: [skow] Asylum Toxic PC
vent placement. With the Series 7, the vent is closer placed to the the high point on the inflating PC ( this is subject to trim of the P)

with the Series 6, this was the first introduced. it is still in demand, so me make it.

the Series 7, is the version after, allowing for larger center panels, and making it so you can have effective differences with cloth choice.

Re: [freeflyJoe] Asylum Toxic PC
correct me if im wrong, but i believe the apex material, inside where the venting is, is f-111 as well.............not sure if thats so on the series 6

It's an option. You can get the 7 series with either a ZP or F-111 center.

Love my 35" for all terminal ws & tracking Wink

Re: [freeflyJoe] Asylum Toxic PC
so what are the pros/cons of both?
Shortcut
Re: [skow] Asylum Toxic PC
Hmm, not sure man. I guess it's personal preference. The 7 series does give you the option of zp or f-111 so you could consider that a pro. Con for both would be the price

Re: [freeflyJoe] Asylum Toxic PC
i mean that as far as i understood the series 6 was made first and then the series 7 (?) So there musty have been a reason for making a new one. And what is the effect of different vent placement (e.g. one is better for terminal/SD/short delay etc.)

Just being curious...

Re: [skow] Asylum Toxic PC
Moving the vents away from the very apex of the pilot chute has provided one benefit that I've found:

With a conventional, apex-located vent, stowing the pilot chute with the mesh cinched tightly up to the ZP can allow for the initial air that enters the PC to simply flow right out the vent, causing a potential PC hesitation.

With the vent moved away from the apex, the air that initially enters the PC slams into ZP, initiating expansion of the pilot chute.

Additionally, as I understand it (and I don't have my reference handy), the highest pressure area inside a round canopy is not at the very apex; it's down from the apex slightly. So I guess moving the vents down from the apex would also place them in closer proximity to the highest-pressure air inside the PC. (I could be remembering that incorrectly, however.)

Cheers,

Chris

PS - I too am one of the people who ordered a Toxic PC and waited a LOOOOOOOOOOONG time to receive it. My credit card was charged pretty damn quickly (less than a day), but the pilot chute took much time and many angry emails to arrive (more than 5 months). FYI.

Ya. I've heard they are pretty backed up. I ordered A PC from Brandon at Bad Seed and it was 10 days from charge to doorstep (and I live across the country). I didn't get the "toxic" clone, but even their regular vented PC's have the strip of vent going around the PC offset a good deal from the apex. I haven't checked the trim and all the stitches since I got it right before going to work today, but I seriously doubt I'll find anything wrong. Shipping and everything was $110 (42").

Re: [Zebu] Asylum Toxic PC
I ordered a couple PCs from Bad Seed recently, too. Crazy-fast shipment. The pilot chutes were perfect. And they were both non-standard requests, so they were not simply pulled from stock.

Brandon's got the customer service thing nailed. And all the Bad Seed stuff I've been jumping has not disappointed me in any way.

Me gusta, mucho.

they look exactly like the adrenaline base ones that I have and would agree it is a nice design. Mike Mann also builds a nice release toggle
