Front riser assisted landings
I know this isn't anything new and I've been doing it skydiving, but not as much in BASE. The past several jumps when I'm done turning to set up where I'm landing, I hang from both front risers, pulling them both down as far as I can and hold that position until just before or right at where I would normally flare and then release them both and go to toggles once it stops flying horizontally. I don't see very many people doing that. Is it just because it's not necessary? Sure is fun though. And I wonder if it'd help you in the event of turbulence if you immediately released front risers when you felt the turbulence? If anyone knows any real downsides to doing this I'd love to hear it.
