No, gear rental is included in the price of the course ($995.00) and if you stay in TF and keep jumping you can borrow a rig for free, if they are available, for as long as you are there. Smile

The $400 rental is only if you wish to rent a rig before the course. I think it includes shipping. I didn't hire gear before my course. My course cost $995.00. True.

I paid $800 back in 2006, but had my own rig,
my own clamps, and already knew how to pack.
Current pricing runs a r o u n d $900 to $1200.

That is mostly correct.

The $400 gear rental fee is for having gear sent out to you a month before the course, so you can practice packing and hopefully skydive the canopy.

The fee includes shipping anywhere in the world.

The gear rental fee is fully refundable as a credit toward the purchase of new gear after the course from many manufacturers (Asylum, Apex, Consolidated Rigging, Morpheus, Atair, Bad Seed).

Basically, you can view the $400 as a security deposit for the month you have the rig before the course.

If you order gear after a course, I will usually send you home with one of the student rigs to use (at no charge) while you wait for your gear to be completed.

Students (and past students) are welcome to borrow gear whenever they are in Twin Falls, subject to some availability--if their visit coincides with a First Jump Course, there is less gear availability.

I basically lose money every time I rent gear, because I end up eating the shipping costs. I rent the gear out because it supports the instruction, and allows students to learn more and progress further in the (usually quite limited) time they have here.

The web site is very outdated. Getting a new one up is on my very large to-do list.

The best way to get current information on our programs is to email me (Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com) or call me (+1.208.420.2602).

My apologies for the confusion.
