Flick 242 Ultralight in a container that is a tight fit for a ZP 9 Cell 135?
I have integrated risers on my base rig, so it's not just a matter of switching risers for me to find out if it's possible by actually trying it.

I thought maybe I could get a false sense of confidence on the Intertubes before I give it a shot.

Has anyone successfully fit such a large ultralight canopy into such a small container? I guess I'm trying to fit a canopy that is twice the rated size, but hey, it's ultralight and it doesn't have to look pretty.

My closing loop is on the bottom flap of my sky rig.

Leave the canopies attached to their containers. Remove the d-bag and attach to the flik. See if it packs in there. If so, see if the container will close with the stuffed d-bag. Wink

dump the dbag and free pack as much material as you can into the pack tray .If some material sticks out it doesnt matter , you are not going free flying with it

Judging by the size my UL flik 254 was when it came rigger rolled and packaged in plastic wrap about the shape of a D-bag I'd say you can make it work if you free pack it, but it will be a tight fit. try it, most it will take is a couple hours out of your day. Just lay your sport rigs risers next to your base rigs integrated risers and switch it over. remember, be careful, don't take your lines off your quick links (take the quick links off your risers), lines go from inners to outers starting with the gate side of your quick links pointing to the inside of your risers, dont yard on the quicklinks when you tighten them (about a quater turn past finger tight), and grab a friend to do a 2 person continuity check after your finished if you feel you might need it.

Hope this helps

Well I've figured it out. To save time, I'm just going to put my container on top of the reserve tray and run the risers down the sides into the main tray as if they were attached to the sky rig. That should give me a good idea of what I'm dealing with with just a quick trash pack.

alantrinidad - thanks for the pointers and all, but just know that I wouldn't be going anywhere near a single parachute system if those things weren't second nature to me.

My 220 ultralite BARELY fit into a rig sized for a 150. I had a rediculously long closing loop on it. I am going to guess that there is no way is hell that you are going to get it to fit.

I am sure it will fit fine.
I have put my flik 254UL with 400 pound dacron lines into a mirage G4 M5 several times and it was super loose. I had the closing loop at about 1".
I have free packed it and also used the Dbag.

I've also seen a regular flik 266 packed into a similar sized container with a long closing loop. It was tight and no canopy fabric was showing.

Yesterday I packed my 240 SEVEN into a 145 container (normally i fit a 170 ZP in there). I used the D-bag and it packed pretty easy but with the dacron lines I was forced to make the closing loop a little longer.
