I remember to have met him in July this year at Brento, what a delight talking to him on many issues..

I am sure he was jumping his X2, he was current on this ws, but HU is unforgiveable for any mistake..

Ive said it before, I dont like the ramp because it gives people the false sense that they will clear the ledge by just a normal push. Push like your life depends on it, because it does.

He went really head down, nearly on the back after exit and for 6 seconds ... probably because he pushed harder than he was used to !

Sometime it's better to do a smaller push and fly on your belly. Or of course, even more reasonable, don't go there if you are not used to do a good push, not the place to learn, especially with a wingsuit

Quote from French forum: "At that precise moment, I thought to myself that this accident would have happenened anywhere else, as the exit was, in my opinion, totaly failed. Now I'm not sure anymore, there is too much confusion in my head. Fabien's testimony seems to confirm my first feeling."

yeah, i was afraid of that.

i've never jumped the ramp, i prefer the rock.

how many wingsuits accidents are we going to let happen there? i thought it was pretty clear that it was a tracking only jump? i mean, sure it can be done, but damn.

So he actually cleared the ledges but tumbled unstable to the talus, is that correct?

copypaste from french forum:

Franck avait

IN ENGLISH:

"- Franck had about 800 skydives, a lot in the Verso and 60 in his X2
- 105 basejumps, 1 or 2 off HU before
- some jumps with the Verso at Brento
- 70 basejumps in his X2

Everything ist told. if anybody doesn't see's where you find the problem in the four lines above, he should stop base jumping."

I agree...

Re: [blitzkrieg] Fatality - Lauterbrunnen - October 20 2012
after coming extremely close to hitting it myself on a slip, I learned to respect this jump. The only thing that saved me was a solid forward momentum built by taking a few running steps...and a LOT of luck. I don't think the ramp is a bad idea, as long as people realize that it really doesn't give you much. The repeated incidents on the HU seem to stem from wingsuiters trying to over-compensate for not being able to run and going off unstable.
HU is one of my favorite jumps in the Valley now...even after my close call. I would hate to see further blood on it.
