Re: [460] Felix Baumgartner
If you'd be willing to share some of your data I'd love to see it. exit weight, CD/area, etc. What kind of position was he in and how did the CD change over the transsonic range. I put some guesses in my reentery model and only came up with 746 mph.
Every time we get togather we keep talking shit about jumping this rocket. The airframe we just flew was 20 inches in diamiter and 34 ft long. We had an early abort on the last flight but the recovery system worked fine and we'll be reflying the same payload on the 3 nov. It was the next launch date we could get from White sands. The 20 inch tube is a new one but if it performs to spec it should be good for a 100 lb pay load to 350,000 ft. I need to bug Phil to run some numbers with a slight hamer head at the top and a softer burn at the end to see how high he could take a heavier payload. I don't supose felix would like a ride?
