The 10-Day forecast has Fayettenam being Partly cloudy, low of 40 Friday night and a high of 60 with a 10% chance of rain for BD.

The New River, right now, is about a foot above normal summer pool level.

[FYI: The past six BD's, the river averaged two and a half feet below summer pool level.]

The seven day forecast has BD being in the low 40's at 6a.m. By 11, the temp will be about 50. And then by 3, 56.

Its gonna be partly sunny with winds out of the West at 8 mph.

The New River is only down about a half a foot right now. Don't know what to expect Saturday morning until you wake up. Last week it was four feet above normal, which means very little landing area.

tell them to let some water out

The New River is free flowing. There is a pour over dam in Bluestone, but that won't do any good. If you want the river to get lower, it can't rain any in Western North Carolina.

What about a truck load of ShamWows?

Believe it or not, NPS actually helps us with the water level. In past years during high water, they requested that the dam hold back water at the right moment to give us a bigger LZ.
