Not a product yet, but if it were I think I'd buy one.

It routes through your smartphone, so obviously it can only dial out when you're in cell service, but I know that a lot of jumps I do are in cell reception zones.

Obviously. But there are several cases on the market today that offer pretty superb protection.

Rough PLF, and you might have emergency services surprising you.

You have a set amount of time to disable it after a detected impact before it dials anyone or does anything.

Well that's good. You drop your helmet getting out of the car and just as you exit here come the police and EMS.

How about a simple timer app on your phone which will dial or text some emergency contact (multiple BASE friends) in case you're incapacitated.

It would be nice to have an app that I could activate before I jump. I could select which pre-written text I want for each object before jumping. After 2-3 minutes my phone vibrates for 30 seconds, then an alarm goes off for another 30 seconds. Finally, it sends the emergency text.

Picture this...

It's 2:30 am and you just landed in a vacant lot. An unsuspecting cop patrolling the area doesn't see you hiding in the shadows. He gets a call from dispatch saying there is a 10-33 in progress at the exact location you are hiding. So, he gets out on foot and pulls out his Surefire light and carefully scans the area RING RING RING RING!

That's why it vibrates for 30 seconds first! Wink

I think some people are missing some important details.

1) It dials your emergency contacts. This could be your best friend. Or your mom. Or your best friend's mom's cat. I realize that their first reaction would likely be calling the police.
2) Once the device activates by taking a SEVERE impact, your phone alerts you that in X amount of time (user defined, presumably) it will dial the contacts.

The timer thing is good, too.
