This is not a memorial jump or BSBD so why did this video end up here??? Verona is still alive and doing well?

Yes, she lived through a later accident, and actually bought steve's house after he died.
I am posting stuff from Steve Morrell's tapes on the main forum and also on this forum, as all proceeds (from the ads that youtube puts on them) go to the Steve Morrell Memorial Scholarship fund.

out of curiosity, who/what kind of person does the scholarship fund target? This is not a leading question so if there is not a target then that is great too...sometimes scholarship funds have a 'mission' to find a particular person. Is that true with that fund???

Has the scholarship fund helped anybody so far?

thanks for the cool videos I really like watching the old base jumps Smile

Re: [samadhi] Verona's first base jump
So when the scholarship was first started, it was run by the general scholarship group and was aimed at cadets that had a focus on flying or the Air Force. It was awarded to several cadets (usually giving around 1000$ to the recipient each year)
After several years my father was having real problems with the management of the fund (the money was ok, but they were neglecting to acknowledge gifts repeatedly and not sending even receipts or telling Dad who had given anything). After several incidents, a few years before he died, Dad moved the fund to the Brigadier Foundation, which has a sports focus, so the fund goes as an athletic scholarship, about the same amount. (i left the flying part on the web page, as Steve was active in sports and several of the cadets were also Air Force RTOC) It has grown big enough that it will continue indefinitely and new contributions will allow for larger awards.
I have gone to several award dinners over the years and met the cadets who were getting the fund for the year. When i visited mom last week she had the name and amount of this year's award (1400$)
Hope this helps. I never expected the videos to go viral or anything, but simply hoped that youtube could produce at least one small check (very rare for youtube videos). This appears about to happen. When it does, I will send the check in as something that Steve earned, 16 years after his death. I appreciate all the comments and my mother was moved to hear that people still remembered Steve, and still talked about him.
