Ladies and Gentlemen of the BASE community, please be on the look out for a Davi Bird, I have lent the guy a rig (free of charge) for 10+ months and he is now refusing to return it, saying I should travel 8hrs round trip collect it from him. If you know this guy please feel free to tell him the error of his ways.

why did you let him use it for free and why dont you just go pick it up?

It is an old skydiving container I lend to anyone wanting to put a base canopy in to get some time under their canopy.
2 rules, you bend it you mend it and you are responsible to get it from and retuned to me.

The twat lives 4hrs from me, I have also had 2 people in the area offer to collect it but he stops answering their emails when they try to set a time and place.
He will not give an address to meet so I am a little stuck.

But karma is already starting to bite him

Unbelievable! Those aren't the sort of questions we should be asking right now. Jools was kind enough to offer me a loan rig a couple of years ago when I lost my canopy to an object strike a few years back. He did it because he's a generous guy with integrity, and naturally assumed that his good nature wouldn't be abused by scum from within our community. Why should he have to incur time and expense to 'just go pick it up'? If you borrow something for 10 months for free then returning it promptly upon request is the least you can do if you have any decency. End of.

I hope this is just a simple misunderstanding and you get your gear back soon Jools.

I am pleased to say that after being told by his instructor that if he did not return it before he leaves the UK he would be thrown off his FJC that starts on Friday he decided to pass it to someone in the area. I still need to get it from London at my expense but like I said I am sure karma will bite the cunt on his arse.
