How to remove a multi
Hello All
I think I am going to remove my multi from my fox/prism rig. Just wondering if anyone has any experience of doing it:
- do I need to use the middle front line from the multi as an extension to the bridle, or can I attach the same bridle direct to the canopy?
or
- should I get a new bridle with different dimensions...in other words without the multi, is the pin too close to the canopy for comfortable/reliable openings of the prism?

thanks

Is that your real BASE number? I would have thought that some one in the sport that long would know how long their bridle should be.

when you get to my age you are doing well if you even remember what a bridle is.

anyway i didnt ask how long my bridle should be

Re: [base695] How to remove a multi
from the manual:

"A Multi equipped canopy may also be used with the single attachment only. In this configuration attach the bridle (or shrivel flap bridle) to the forward most ring on center cell. Do not use any other configuration with the Multi
other than the ones described within this manual."

refer to section 4: http://apexbase.com/...4fdf5f3a74_15034.pdf

hope that helps! Wink

Re: [blitzkrieg] How to remove a multi
thanks, have seen this and did know the theory.

but my question is more along the lines of if I remove the multi completely (including the line that goes from bridle to centre front ring), it seems like the pin is too close to the attachment on the canopy. its an old fox/prism, not sure how important this is but intuitively I could envisage if the distance from the pin to canopy attachment point is not long enough it could maybe cause a container lock.

I am not familiar with the specifics, but cant you just remove the Multi-Bridle & order a new normal bridle & attach it to the center attachment point?

Or pack her up and try to duplicate the
container lock that you imagine is capable
by tugging on the bridle in different ways.

Remove the multi entirely and attach the bridle directly to the central attachment point. It's not too close.

I have done this with two FOX/Prism rigs, including one made in the 90's, which is probably about the same age as yours. No problems with that setup for many jumps.

When you finish your folds, is the bridle attachment at the very top of the pack tray? You may need to adjust the folds slightly so that it is near the middle.

thanks all some good suggestions.
Thanks Tom - that makes sense, will need to adjust the fold and should be good

Greeny - I can sort of replicate the lock but have to try quite hard, this is what got me thinking in the first place
