seen a lot of base jumping for fun/adrenaline or for commercial reasons.
anyone did it for a cause, such as "human rights", etc?

Yes,
there have been a few.
Off the top of my head...

BASE 44 did a protest jump for Greenpeace a long time ago.
Miles D. did/does an event for the local Twin Falls community (I think).

I know there have been others but the brain isn't pulling them up at the moment.
