Hi everyone. I've seen some amazing videos and photos of dwain weston doing skysurf base jumps (as you probably all have) and I started wondering why is there so little about this on the internet, is it because it is too dangerous, too hard, or simply because basejumpers are all focused in other disciplines? I would really like to get more information about it, to understand how this astonishing discipline works. Please share what you think, thanks.

I've got a bunch of footage of Dwain BASE-surfing on VHS tapes in my classroom.

I think that it's not very popular for the same reasons that it's not terribly popular in Skydiving. Plus, sneaking a sky board into a building or lugging one up the side of a mountain could be a lot of work.

This is one of them. The other one I saw was a quite impressive picture, in which dwain was doing his tricks very close to the wall, a big one by the way, but I can't find that photo anywhere, it used to be in the internet. As for the footage, the only thing I saw was that compilation of dwain's jumps from "fearless - The jeb corliss story" and also a video in which he jumps a russian tower, but again I can't find it.

Most of that video is the property of Tom Begic. If you want digital copies, I'd suggest contacting him and asking.

I have most of dwains pictures of him skysurfing, off antennas and buildings and cliffs and bridges..

they will all come out in a documentary in 1-2 years on the history of australian base jumping..

Are you sure? I've always thought Patrick de Gayardon was the pioneer in that sort of jumps.

what year was dave barlia the first to jump a skyboard or snowboard in teh world..

late 90's

I cant remember Patric basejumped his skyboard.

It is not my claim, but it is Dave´s claim to be the first.
